Breakthrough monitor could save newborns from brain damage during birth
NCT ID NCT07409545
Summary
This study is testing a new device called TOCONAUTE that monitors a baby's stress levels during labor. The goal is to see if it can better detect when a baby is not getting enough oxygen, which can lead to brain damage. Researchers will enroll 760 pregnant women to see if this new 'fetal stress index' can predict problems more accurately than current methods. If successful, it could help doctors make better decisions about when to intervene during delivery.
