Could a more aggressive eye injection plan save vision from diabetes?
NCT ID NCT04116398
Summary
This study is testing if a new, more proactive schedule for a steroid eye implant works better for diabetic macular edema, a common cause of vision loss. It aims to see if starting with two close-together injections, followed by injections only as needed, leads to greater vision improvement and better long-term control than the standard 'wait-and-see' approach. The trial involves about 53 patients who have not had previous eye injections for this condition.
