Tiny metal ring implant offers new hope to save failing corneas

NCT ID NCT06451718

Summary

This is the first human study of a new, permanent metal implant designed to reshape the cornea and improve vision in people with advanced keratoconus. The study will enroll 12 adults who are not candidates for other implants and are facing a corneal transplant. The main goal is to check if the implant is safe and if it can effectively improve vision, potentially offering a new option to preserve the natural cornea.
