New dressing aims to heal diabetic foot sores faster

NCT ID NCT06729411

Summary

This small, completed study tested a new type of dressing designed to reduce pressure on foot ulcers in people with diabetes. 40 participants with foot ulcers wore a removable boot and were randomly assigned to receive either the new 'minimal offloading dressing' or a standard felt padding. The main goal was to see if the new dressing helped the ulcers heal within 12 weeks and to track any related amputations for 6 months.
