Experimental gel tested to close stubborn diabetic foot wounds

NCT ID NCT06111183

Summary

This study tested whether a new topical treatment called AUP1602-C could help heal chronic diabetic foot ulcers that weren't responding to standard care. 64 patients with these stubborn wounds were randomly assigned to receive either the new treatment or a placebo gel, in addition to their regular wound care. Researchers measured how many wounds completely closed, how quickly they healed, and monitored for any side effects.
