New combo therapy tested for Steroid-Induced diabetes

NCT ID NCT07117240

Summary

This study is testing if a newer combination treatment (a GLP-1 drug plus a long-acting insulin) works better than standard insulin therapy alone for people who develop diabetes from taking steroid medications. It will involve about 100 adults who need steroids for conditions like arthritis or asthma. Researchers will closely monitor blood sugar levels for six months to see which treatment is safer and more effective at keeping sugar in a healthy range.
