Can new diabetes pills protect your eyesight?

NCT ID NCT07351786

Summary

This study is looking at whether newer types of diabetes medications might help delay or prevent diabetic retinopathy, a serious eye complication. Researchers will compare people taking newer drugs (like SGLT2 or DPP-4 inhibitors) to those taking older drugs (like metformin) to see if there's a difference in eye health. The goal is to find ways to prevent vision problems before they become severe and difficult to treat.
