New device aims to suction deadly lung clots

Summary
This study is testing a new medical device system designed to physically remove dangerous blood clots from the lungs (pulmonary embolism). The device works by grabbing and suctioning out the clot. Researchers will enroll 107 patients to see if the procedure is safe and effective at reducing strain on the heart caused by the clot.
