Scientists test 'Smarter' dental fillings that may help teeth heal

NCT ID NCT07262086

Summary

This study aims to see if a new type of self-curing, bioactive dental filling material wears down more slowly and helps strengthen the underlying tooth better than a common standard filling. Researchers will place one of each type of filling in 12 patients with two cavities and track them for two years using 3D scans and X-rays. The goal is to find longer-lasting, more protective materials for treating cavities.
