Scientists test 'Bioactive' fillings that may help teeth heal

NCT ID NCT07262086

Summary

This study is testing a new type of dental filling material that sets on its own and is designed to be bioactive, meaning it may help the tooth underneath it rebuild minerals. Researchers will compare it to a standard light-cured filling material in 12 patients, each with two cavities. They will measure how much each filling wears down over two years and check if the tooth underneath becomes denser over three months.
