Toothbrush vibration trial aims to save fused teeth from extraction

NCT ID NCT05695105

Summary

This study tested two new approaches to treat dental ankylosis, a condition where a tooth fuses to the jawbone and stops growing. In young patients, this often leads to the tooth being pulled. Researchers tried using daily electric toothbrush vibrations and a special orthodontic method to try to reverse the fusion and allow the tooth to grow normally again. The goal was to find a non-invasive way to save these teeth.
