Breakthrough scan could reveal hidden stroke risk

NCT ID NCT05764772

Summary

This study is testing a new type of CT scan to see if it can better identify the dangerous materials inside plaque in the neck arteries of people who have had a stroke. Researchers will compare the new scan results to MRI images and, for some participants, actual plaque tissue removed during surgery. The goal is to improve detection of high-risk plaque that current scans might miss.
