One scan, two answers: new test aims to sharpen detection of deadly lung clots

NCT ID NCT03579849

Summary

This study tested a new type of CT scan that aims to improve the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism (a dangerous blood clot in the lungs). Researchers compared this new scan, which can show both the clot and how it affects blood flow, against a standard older scan method. The goal was to see if the new technique could provide more accurate and complete information from a single test.
