Pinhole contact lens aims to sharpen blurry vision

NCT ID NCT07559188

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests a new type of contact lens with a tiny central opening, designed to improve vision for people with presbyopia (age-related blurry near vision) or keratoconus (a condition where the cornea bulges). The lens works like a pinhole camera to increase depth of focus and reduce visual distortions. Sixteen adults will try the lens in a single session to see if it improves their vision compared to a standard contact lens.
