New hope for deadly breast cancer complication in the brain

NCT ID NCT06462092

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a combination of two drugs is safe and might work better for a serious complication where breast cancer spreads to the lining of the brain and spinal cord. It is for people with a specific type of breast cancer (HER2-negative) and aims to find a more effective treatment strategy, as current options are very limited. The treatment involves an intravenous drug plus a chemotherapy drug delivered directly into the spinal fluid.
