New implant technique aims to unlock full range of hearing
NCT ID NCT06901674
Summary
This study is testing a new technique for cochlear implants, which are devices that help people with severe hearing loss. Standard implants only stimulate part of the inner ear, missing the areas for lower-pitched sounds. The new method aims to stimulate the entire ear using the same-sized implant, which could improve speech understanding and sound quality without risking more damage to the ear.
