Summary

This study tested a new drug called Pemafibrate (K-877) for people with high cholesterol who cannot tolerate standard statin medications due to side effects. In this 12-week trial, 71 participants received either the new drug or a placebo pill to see if it safely lowered their 'bad' LDL cholesterol. The goal was to provide a new treatment option for this group of patients who have difficulty managing their cholesterol.
