First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests a new, flexible catheter that uses short electrical pulses to treat persistent atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat). About 35 adults with this condition will receive the procedure under general anesthesia. The main goals are to see if the catheter is safe (no serious problems within 7 days) and effective at isolating the heart's problematic veins and creating lasting scar tissue.
