New scan could spot hidden stomach cancer better
NCT ID NCT05898854
Summary
This study tested a new type of PET scan (called FAPI PET/CT) to see if it is more accurate than the standard FDG PET scan for finding stomach and gastro-esophageal junction cancer. It involved 20 patients who got both types of scans when first diagnosed and again after chemotherapy. The goal was to see if the new scan could better detect where the cancer had spread, which helps doctors plan the best treatment.
