New scanner aims to give surgeons 'X-Ray Vision' for breast cancer cells

NCT ID NCT07311317

Summary

This study is testing a new handheld scanner called the EndoSCell Scanner. It uses a special light to help surgeons see cancer cells in real-time during breast tumor removal surgery, aiming to ensure all cancerous tissue is removed. The scanner's accuracy will be compared to standard lab tests. If successful, it could help reduce the need for patients to have a second surgery.
