Magnetic brain zaps tested as new hope for tough depression cases

NCT ID NCT06357832

Summary

This study tested whether a new pattern of magnetic brain stimulation works as well as the current standard method for treating major depression. It involved 104 adults with depression who hadn't gotten enough relief from antidepressant medications. Researchers compared the new stimulation protocol to the existing one over six weeks to see if it was equally safe and effective at reducing depression symptoms.
