Scientists test High-Tech brain probe to unlock Parkinson's secrets

NCT ID NCT05919160

Summary

This study is testing a new, more durable type of brain electrode designed to safely record the activity of many more individual nerve cells than current tools allow. It will be used in up to 10 people with Parkinson's disease who are already scheduled for a deep brain stimulation surgery. The main goals are to see if this new electrode works better than standard ones and to confirm it is safe for use in the human brain.
