New 'Smart' bone graft aims to heal backs faster

NCT ID NCT07044206

Summary

This study is testing a new synthetic bone graft material to see if it helps people heal better after spinal fusion surgery for severe, chronic back pain caused by worn-out spinal discs. It will compare the new material to a standard one in 100 adults, measuring how well the spine fuses together and how much pain and disability improve over a year. The goal is to find a more effective option that could reduce the need for repeat surgeries.
