Simple device aims to spot deadly blood infections faster in africa
NCT ID NCT05722184
Summary
This study tested a new, simple, and portable system called BactInsight for diagnosing bloodstream infections in hospitals in Benin and Burkina Faso. The goal was to see if this easy-to-use system could work as well as standard lab equipment in places where advanced labs are scarce. Better diagnosis could help doctors prescribe the right antibiotics faster, reducing misuse that leads to drug-resistant infections.
