New hope for kids with tough blood cancers: modified transplant trial begins

NCT ID NCT07052370

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing the safety of a new type of blood cell transplant for children and young adults (up to age 21) with high-risk blood cancers. The treatment uses specially processed cells from a partially matched family donor, followed by an infusion of immune cells, to try to prevent the cancer from coming back. The main goal is to see if this multi-step approach is safe and feasible for patients who don't have a fully matched donor.
