First-in-Human trial tests Shape-Shifting implant to tame deadly aortic tear

NCT ID NCT07387250

Summary

This first-in-human study is testing a new shape-memory polymer implant designed to be placed inside the 'false channel' of a torn aorta. The goal is to see if the implant is safe and can help stop this dangerous channel from expanding, which could prevent future rupture or surgery. The study will enroll 15 adults with a history of aortic dissection who need treatment for this persistent channel.
