First-in-Human trial tests Shape-Shifting implant to tame deadly aortic tear
NCT ID NCT06550986
Summary
This study is testing a new, first-of-its-kind implant made from a special shape-memory polymer. The goal is to see if safely placing this implant into the 'false lumen'—a dangerous tear in the aorta's wall—can stop the aorta from growing larger and prevent complications. The study will enroll 30 adults with a specific type of aortic dissection to check if the procedure is safe and feasible.
