Safer UTI treatment for men could replace risky antibiotics

NCT ID NCT06822751

Summary

This study is testing whether an antibiotic called fosfomycin can effectively treat urinary tract infections in men while avoiding the serious side effects of current standard antibiotics. The trial will enroll 138 adult men with non-febrile UTIs in primary care settings across France. Researchers want to see if this alternative antibiotic, already proven safe for women, can successfully clear infections in men without causing tendon or heart problems.
