One shot vs. pump: new study aims to simplify Post-Surgery pain relief

NCT ID NCT06995352

Summary

This study is comparing two ways to manage pain after ankle surgery. Researchers want to see if a single, long-acting numbing shot works as well as a multi-day nerve block pump. The goal is to find a simpler, less burdensome method that controls pain and reduces the need for opioid pills. The study will involve 140 adults having moderately to severely painful ankle surgery.
