Brain-Wave monitor could slash surgical opioid doses

NCT ID NCT07004686

Summary

This study is testing a new brain-wave monitor called MGRNOX to see if it helps anesthesiologists use fewer opioid painkillers during surgery. Researchers will compare opioid use in patients having gallbladder surgery, where half the team uses the new monitor for guidance and the other half uses standard methods. The goal is to see if this high-tech guidance leads to less opioid medication, which could mean fewer side effects and a smoother recovery for patients.
