New drug combo challenges standard chemo in battle against aggressive blood cancer
NCT ID NCT04801797
Summary
This study aims to see if a newer drug combination (venetoclax + azacitidine) works as well as or better than standard chemotherapy for adults newly diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a fast-growing blood cancer. About 172 participants will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two treatment approaches. Researchers will compare how long patients live without their cancer getting worse, side effects, and quality of life between the two groups.
