New triple therapy may boost leukemia remission in seniors

NCT ID NCT07469046

First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a third drug (homoharringtonine) to the standard two-drug therapy (venetoclax and azacitidine) helps more older adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) achieve remission. About 308 patients aged 60-75 who have not yet been treated will be randomly assigned to receive either the two-drug or three-drug combination. The main goal is to see if the three-drug combo leads to higher rates of complete remission.
