New heart mapping tech aims to zap dangerous rhythms more precisely

NCT ID NCT07390175

Summary

This study is testing a new method to guide ablation, a procedure that uses heat or cold to create tiny scars in the heart to stop irregular rhythms. Researchers will use advanced mapping technology to identify specific, stable areas believed to drive persistent atrial fibrillation (AFib) and recurrent ventricular fibrillation (VF), then target those areas for ablation. The goal is to see if this more precise approach improves the control of these dangerous heart rhythms and reduces how often they come back.
