Can removing a birthmark make a Child's life better?
NCT ID NCT02280889
Summary
This study aims to understand if surgically removing large, visible birthmarks (congenital melanocytic nevi) improves children's quality of life and reduces feelings of social stigma. Researchers will follow 100 children, aged 9 months to 16 years, comparing their experiences before surgery and one year after the procedure is complete. The goal is to provide evidence for the psychological benefits of this surgery, which is often requested for appearance and social reasons rather than medical risk.
