First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at neutrophils—a type of immune cell—in the blood of children with sepsis, a severe infection that can damage organs. Researchers want to understand how these cells change and cause harm, so they can develop better treatments. About 72 children with sepsis and healthy children having surgery will take part. This is an observational study, meaning no new treatments are given.
