Scientists probe immune cell secrets to improve vasculitis care

This completed study looked at how certain immune cells called neutrophils behave in people with granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), a rare disease that causes blood vessel inflammation. Researchers compared blood samples from 93 participants—including GPA patients, patients with similar conditions, and healthy donors—to find proteins that might help predict disease activity. The goal was to better understand the disease and identify markers that could guide more personalized treatment.
