NCT ID NCT06354673
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested two combinations of treatments for 'neurostorming' — sudden, severe stress reactions after traumatic brain injury. 205 critically ill patients received a nerve block (stellate ganglion block) plus either dexmedetomidine or low-dose ketamine. The goal was to calm symptoms like high blood pressure, fast heart rate, and fever, and to see which combination worked better and reduced time in the ICU.
