Can common glaucoma drops save your optic nerve?

NCT ID NCT07074782

First seen Dec 16, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a common type of glaucoma eye drop (prostaglandin analogues) can protect the nerve cells in the back of the eye, beyond just lowering eye pressure. Researchers will review medical records from 1500 adults with glaucoma over 3 years. They will compare those using prostaglandin drops to those using other pressure-lowering drops to see which group has better nerve health.
