First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at 126 babies born at 35 weeks or later who were at risk for low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Researchers compared brain development at 18-24 months between those who had low blood sugar and those who did not. The goal was to see if low blood sugar shortly after birth affects thinking, movement, language, or social skills. This is an observational study, not a treatment trial.
