Scientists uncover immune clues in pregnancy complication

NCT ID NCT05470712

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at stored blood samples from 26 pregnant women to understand how immune cells (neutrophils) form web-like traps (NETs) in normal pregnancy versus preeclampsia, a serious condition. Researchers compared two ways these traps form—one that kills the cell and one that doesn't—to see if they differ between the groups. The goal was to gather knowledge, not to test a treatment.
