New injection shows promise for stiff, painful back condition

NCT ID NCT07277179

Summary

This study tested whether regular injections of an experimental drug called netakimab could reduce symptoms in adults with active ankylosing spondylitis, a condition that causes painful spinal inflammation and stiffness. Researchers compared the drug against placebo injections in 113 Chinese patients over 52 weeks to see if it improved pain, stiffness, and physical function. The goal was to see if this treatment could better control the disease for people who didn't get enough relief from standard pain medications.
