Body implant trial offers hope for untreatable arthritis

Summary

This study is testing whether a small implanted device that stimulates a nerve in the abdomen is safe for people with severe rheumatoid arthritis that hasn't responded to multiple medications. Five participants will have the device placed via keyhole surgery and use it for several hours a day. Researchers will monitor safety and device performance for up to five years while also checking for any potential improvement in arthritis symptoms.
