New device zaps nerves to fight sleep apnea

NCT ID NCT07303452

Summary

This study is testing a new device that uses mild electrical pulses to stimulate nerves in the neck to keep the airway open during sleep. It's for adults with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea who cannot use or don't tolerate standard CPAP machines. The goal is to see if the device is safe and can reduce the number of times a person stops breathing at night.
