Ear device aims to cut opioid use in vomiting attacks
NCT ID NCT04721171
First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested a small nerve stimulation device placed on the ear to see if it could reduce severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting in people with cyclic vomiting syndrome. The goal was to offer a non-drug option and lower the need for opioids. Only 4 people took part before the study was stopped early, so results are very limited.
