New wrap could help finger nerves heal better after injury
NCT ID NCT07292415
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a special collagen wrap called MatriDerm around a surgically repaired finger nerve leads to better recovery. Researchers will compare standard nerve stitching alone to stitching plus the MatriDerm wrap in 70 patients with traumatic finger nerve cuts. The main goal is to see if the wrap improves the return of fine touch sensation in the fingertip one year after surgery and reduces problems like chronic pain or abnormal nerve growth.
