Glowing dye could save voices in cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07406815
Summary
This study is testing if a special fluorescent dye can help surgeons see and protect a critical nerve during esophageal cancer surgery. The nerve controls the voice box, and damaging it is a common complication. Researchers will compare surgery using the dye-guided imaging system to standard surgery to see if it lowers the risk of nerve injury and related voice and swallowing problems.
