Mirror and zaps: new hope for damaged nerves?

NCT ID NCT06209632

Summary

This small study tested if combining two therapies—mirror therapy and electrical stimulation—could improve hand function and nerve healing after a specific injury. Seven people with recent median or ulnar nerve injuries in the forearm did exercises while watching their good hand in a mirror and receiving mild electrical stimulation to their injured hand. Researchers compared this combo to a fake mirror version and standard therapy to see which helped most with strength, feeling, and brain-muscle connection.
