First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether a dye called fluorescein sodium, given through an IV, can help surgeons identify nerves during head and neck surgery. Eight adults having surgery for conditions like thyroid disease or parotid tumors took part. Surgeons compared the dye's glow to standard nerve-finding methods to see if it could make nerve identification easier and safer.
