Nerve block may ease pain and fear during skin cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07222241
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding a nerve block (numbing medicine) before Mohs surgery for skin cancer on the face or scalp can lower pain and anxiety during the procedure. About 150 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either a real nerve block or a placebo (salt water) injection, in addition to standard local anesthesia. The goal is to see if the extra numbing step makes the surgery more comfortable for patients.
