Numbing the pain: study tests two injections for Post-Surgery comfort

NCT ID NCT04868058

Summary

This study aimed to see which of two different nerve block injections worked better to control pain after a combined surgical and catheter procedure for irregular heartbeats. It compared the Serratus Anterior Plane Block (SAPB) to the Erector Spinae Plane Block (ESPB), both using a numbing medicine called ropivacaine. The main goal was to measure how well each block reduced pain in the first 12 hours after surgery and how easy they were to perform.
